Teaching Induction: How does the ARRIVE Study impact childbirth education?

Event Details

The ARRIVE Study, completed in late 2017, looked at Labor Induction versus Expectant Management in Low-Risk Nulliparous Women. Last year Certified Childbirth Educator and experienced Birth Doula Bonu deCaires gave a fascinating talk, leading us through the details of the study as well as ACOG’s subsequent response.

Bring a packed lunch and please join us Monday, December 2, from 12:00-2:00 pm as we invite Bonu back to discuss the impact the study has had on obstetric care in New York City and how to handle the topic of inductions in our childbirth classes. How do we help our clients, many of whom are being encouraged to induce earlier than ever before, navigate this complicated terrain? We will discuss explaining the study in a succinct and understandable manner to prepare clients for discussing concerns with their providers.

If you did not attend last year’s event, or for a refresher about the topic, please listen to the Prenatal Yoga Center interview with Bonu prior to December 2.
